Enfant Terrible was one of the first labels to give recognition and attention to the pioneers of minimal electronics / proto-elektro / avant-garde pop / experimental pop music from the late 1970’s and early 1980's. Next to that it is one of the few labels in this field of music that truly invests in the development of new talents in this music tradition. In short: Enfant Terrible has been mapping the field of this counter culture and contributing to its development since the very start of its activities. Their latest release is Kamp Holland. It's an overview of the current independent electronic music scene from Holland. The last few days I've been incredibly busy composing and producing for two different projects. One by Mo'Warped and the other by De Kijkbuiskinderen / KBK Visuals. The projects were totally different and required completely different kinds of creative input. But I've enjoyed working on both. It got a bit stressy because of the fact that the two projects had nearly the same deadline.... But like always, everything came together just fine! Now it's time to focus on writing some new tunes! Hope to upload some stuff soon...!

Finally I've decided to put together a dub/dubstep album. Or well: Autonon tracks which I think could be labeled as "dub". Quite a few people have asked me when I will "do" some more dub orientated stuff... Well, here we go! I'm aiming for an album with about seven or eight loud dub/dubstep tracks. The design will be made by Graph[s]ic. Haven't decided what the title will be... At the moment I'm sticking with: 'Autonon - Who made me make dub?". Would be great I've could get it released on a (net)label but it will probably end up as a limited edition homemade production. More info soon! | |

(Dutch) De afgelopen tijd ben ik erg druk geweest, en nog steeds, met het componeren van audio voor verschillende projecten. Zo heb ik voor Mo'Warped audio geleverd voor een project voor de Rabobank. En nu ben ik bezig met het componeren van audio voor De Kijkbuiskinderen in opdracht van het STRP Festival. Erg cool! Met De Kijkbuiskinderen werkte ik al eerder samen, bijvoorbeeld voor het Stranger Festival en het Playground Festival. Allemaal super om mee bezig te zijn. Helaas ben ik echter nog niet aan het schrijven van nieuwe Autonon tracks toegekomen. Maar niet getreurd.... binnenkort komt er weer nieuw spul online!

At the moment I'm busy with a lot of things. All in different genres and with different people. At the first of November Jacko Boonman and I did our first gig with our band The "Incredible" Knees during the opening of an exposition by Marinke Marcelis and Edmee Plaatzer at Ruimte X, Tilburg. The performance went pretty well. At this moment Daan Johan (Bulder, RecPlay, Shortlife) is rehearing with our band The "Incredible" Knees. His input in the band contains mainly out of noise / soundscapes / drones. The first recordings sound very promissing. I'll keep you updated on all progress involving The "Incredible" Knees. An other project I'm working on is Petr Passive. Finally I'm taking the time to write some cheesy elektro tunes. Something I had to do much earlier actually. I don't really know what to aim for with this project but a few live gigs should be nice. Perhaps release some tracks or what ever. You can check it all out on www.myspace.com/petrpassive Of course I'm also producing new stuff for Autonon. A few tracks will be ready soon. You will be able to listen to them soon at www.myspace.com/autonon At the first of December Breakcore.nl will bring their new release called 'Offline'. It also contains a Autonon track. Peter van Drunen (Autonon) en Daan Johan (Bulder) hebben voor deze expositie hun muzikale en technische bijdrage geleverd bij een aantal ruimtelijke werken en animaties. Het waren drukke en volle dagen maar het uiteindelijke resultaat was erg bevredigend. (Dutch) Op 3, 4 en 5 juli vond het Stranger Festival plaats in Amsterdam en Rotterdam. De Kijkbuiskinderen hadden mij gevraagd om de audio / muziek te verzorgen bij hun uitgebreide vj-set die zij op 4 juli in de Off_Corso zouden neerzetten. Dit verzoek heb ik met veel plezier aangenomen! Dit betekende wel een lange (anderhalve) week tot in de late uurtjes doorwerken in het atelier van De Kijkbuiskinderen om de audio en het beeld zo goed mogelijk te laten samenwerken. Maar het moet gezegd worden; het was het zeker waard. De totale set is erg goed geworden en live verliep hij helemaal zoals bedoeld! We hebben de set onderverdeeld in vier subthema's: nieuws/realiteit, film/fictie, bewakingscamera's/vervaging van wat prive is en of dat oke is, internet/alle gekheid op een digitaal stokje. Het hoofdthema was youtube. Kortom: een erg vet eindresultaat voortkomend uit een erg prettige samenwerking. Check even de site van De Kijkbuiskinderen! Boek die shit!

On the 13th and 15th of March I've played at Cross-Linx 8 at Vredenburg Muziekcentrum (Utrecht) and Het Frits Philips Muziekcentrum (Eindhoven). Cross-Linx is a very cool crossover festival with international artists (Eels, Teitur, Nico Muhly, Dez Mona, Holland Baroque Society, ContraContra, Ansatz der Maschine, Nomad). During this edition of Cross-Linx pop and classical music was combined by the performing artists, all in very different styles. I really enjoyed playing at Cross-Linx 8. It was a great experience playing for quite a divers audience and, of course, a lot of Eels-fans! | |

Autonon produced the music and audio for an animated movie (Ruby) by Chok Wah Man from Warped Visuals. Chok Wah is also one of the directors of APVIS. For Peter (Autonon) it was a really interesting and enjoyable experience. Producing music or audio for (short) movies is definitely something he would like to do more in the future. APVIS is presenting it's latest and finest movies during a movie evening on 16 februari at VillaNuts, The Hague. There will also be an exposition. Be there! | |
